Long Trail Physical Therapy clinics in Burlington, Milton, Middlebury, and Richmond offer a Work Hardening Program after the completion of physical therapy. Mark Coleman has been licensed as an Occupational Therapist since 1999. Mark specializes in the prevention and management of orthopedic injuries. He works mostly with workers compensation patients or directly with New England employers. Mark has teamed up with Long Trail Physical Therapy to offer functional capacity evaluations, work hardening conditioning programs, and pre-employment tests.
We now offer you the opportunity to do a work hardening program at your local PT clinic! Now you can complete your physical therapy, stay with your same physical therapist, and complete a work hardening program at a location that is convenient for you! Work hardening programs are designed by your physical therapist and our occupational therapist. They are pre-approved and supported by your employer. The first hour is a continuation of your PT activities and the second hour is a circuit of activities that will prepare you for the tasks of your job. Work hardening programs vary but they are typically 2 hours per day in the clinic in combination with a home program that consists of up to 4-8 weeks.
